If you are interested in our local trees, then why not join us this Summer (2016) as part of our social programme when we will be walking down Westgate with our Tree Warden, Dr Brian Hopkins of Henty Gardens, to check on the catalogue of our protected trees and update it?
The walk will take place on Saturday 25th June at 11am. Meeting at the Crate & Apple from 10.00am. It should take about an hour. Do contact us if you are interested.
We are aware that this date does clash with The Festival of Speed but it all depends on Brian’s availability as he will be busy organising tree walks for The Festival of Chichester. So it may affect numbers and, depending on the wind direction, we may be accompanied by the noise of speeding cars to remind us why trees are so important!
If you have a general interest in the trees of Chichester, then why not go on one of Brian’s other walks or download the Chichester tree trail and take a walk round this City of Trees. Chichester is a very leafy city and there are a few hundred trees within its walls; the Chichester tree trail has been devised to introduce both residents and visitors to some of the interesting ones. The trail is about one-and-a-half miles long and takes about an hour-and-a-half to complete. Ours should be a bit quicker but you could learn a lot!
